Tracy-Lynne has been practising exclusively in family law since she began her articles of clerkship in 2000. Since that time she has had much experience in all areas of family law including difficult children and property matters. She has participated in many mediations and an arbitration.
She has worked as a tutor at QUT and is a mentor in the QUT mentor program. She is currently completing her Masters of Laws.
Just prior to commencing her own practice in August 2009 she was a Minister appointed Panel member of the Redress Scheme of the Forde Inquiry, the Commission of Inquiry into the abuse of children in Queensland Institutions.
Tracy is one of the founding members of BLEATS (Brisbane Lawyers Educating and Advocating for Tougher Sentences), a group set up in 2007 and currently consisting of some 130 lawyers prosecuting matters on a pro bono basis for the RSPCA.
In addition to family law she will specialise in animal law, and her firm is the first law firm practising in this area in Australia.
Steven is a Lecturer at Griffith Law School in Brisbane. He is a graduate of Griffith Law School (LLB (First Class Hons)) and also has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Melbourne. Before joining Griffith, Steven worked as solicitor with the firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques. Previously, Steven has worked as an associate to Justice Bill Pincus of the Queensland Court of Appeal and as an adviser to a Senator of the Commonwealth Parliament.
Steven has published widely on animal law, including co-editing Animal Law in Australasia: A New Dialogue (with Peter Sankoff), launched in May 2009 by The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG. Steven taught one of the first undergraduate courses offered on animal law in Australia (in early 2007, repeated in 2008 and 2009). Steven is currently writing his PhD on the regulation of the treatment of companion and farmed animals in Australia.
Donna Cooper is a Senior Lecturer in the QUT Law School. She was admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland in 1989 and practiced exclusively in family law for several years. She now teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and researches in family law and dispute resolution. Donna has a particular interest in children’s cases and in using social science knowledge to assist clients work out appropriate parenting arrangements. She also researches in the negotiation and mediation area and in how people can best resolve their family law disputes.

Nicci Harvey has been a valued member of our team since the beginning of TLG Lawyers in 2009.
Nicci’s primary role at TLG Lawyers is as our office manager and as such, Nicci is the face of the firm. Nicci will be the friendly voice on the phone you hear once you contact the practice and will be the person that will give you a warm and friendly welcome when you visit our office.
Nicci has worked as a professional legal receptionist since 2004. Nicci has exceptional communication skills and prides herself on her friendly, helpful, professional and down to earth approach. Nicci is a great communicator and is experienced at listening to clients and understanding their needs and wants.
Nicci is capable and happy to assist new and existing clients with their general enquires and can make future appointments for our clients with one of our solicitors who is best to service their needs and give personal attention to their matter.
TLG Lawyers – Family and Animal Law is pleased to announce the commencement of Jenni Weick as a solicitor.
Jenni is a graduate of Griffith Law School (LLB (Hons)) and she also holds a degree in criminology and criminal justice from Griffith University. In 2008 Jenni was admitted to the Legal Profession after completing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
In order to obtain her Honours in Law, Jenni wrote an animal law related paper “The Cruelty Connection – evidence of the link between animal cruelty in childhood and later violent criminal offending”.
Jenni is one of the founding members of BLEATS (Brisbane Lawyers Educating and Advocating for Tougher Sentences) and she is also a volunteer member of the RSPCA Brisbane Fundraising Branch.
Stephanie Powell has recently commenced working as a paralegal at TLG Lawyers – Family and Animal Law.
Stephanie has completed a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and she graduated with her Bachelor of Laws from QUT in 2009. She will commence studying for her Masters of Law after she completes her practical legal training in June 2010. She will stay on with the firm once she is admitted to practise as a solicitor.
Stephanie has an interest in family law, child protection and health law, and of course animal law. She is a current member of BLEATS (Brisbane Lawyers Educating and Advocating for Tougher Sentences) and she has just designed a brochure for BLEATS that will soon be distributed to the public.
Stephanie enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, jogging, scuba diving and playing tennis. She also loves cooking. She likes adventure type holidays and in July this year she will attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
